I’ve heard of bad reviews pertaining to NAIA but my experience with it was that it was OK, well compared to provincial airports that is. I think the main problem of NAIA’s stink is not so much the facility, but rather the staff that maintains NAIA. On the way to Bohol, I witnessed how dirty the CR was, while the cleaners in charge where chatting in the entrance of the CR, even blocking half of the way. They were not polite and they were not doing their job. Maybe they need to hire a better supervisor for the maintenance, and maybe get Inetsoft report designer for better reporting and quality controlling. Having been a manager for quite a while, I can see that the problem here in lies with middle managers not taking maintenance matters seriously.
This past week has been a week of preparations for our coming travel to Bohol. We’ve listed down the things that we need to buy like swimwear and beach apparel and went to the nearest stores to buy them. If only we had some 2012 banana republic coupons, then we could have saved some big bucks. Anyway, we made sure that the items we were buying are not one time items, instead items that will also be useful in our future travels and outings.
We have already written down our goals for 2012. Part of our goals is to have more streams of income aside from my day job. I am glad that internet has made the world a smaller place. It has enabled some people to maintain consultancy jobs on the side like Technical Recruiter Consultant Jobs for instance. But what I’m planning to do is not to take on consultancy jobs but to focus more on writing. I hope I can publish my own books in the future and earn from it too.
Anyway, I still have a lot to do in order to achieve that. What I like about the new year is it gives us a sense of optimism and I feel that I can achieve more this year. So good luck to us this year! Hope we can achieve all our goals and be a blessing to others.
The first day of the new year will be quite busy for our family. We will wake up early in the morning to attend church and thank our Lord for this brand new year. I am fortunate to be the worship leader. It would be doubly significant for me because it is also my birthday.
After that we will be off to my father-in-law’s house for a visit. We were not able to visit them last Christmas so we try to make up by visiting them this new year. As for my own father, we have just saw each other two days ago for some bonding time. I would not be able to be with him for the start of the new year but I’m planning send dad cookies as a reminder that we’re thinking of him during this occasion.
I am happy that we will be able to start the new year right. I know there are a lot of opportunities in store for us this year and we are thankful for those as early as now.
A treat for Manilenos, we will have a total lunar eclipse this December.
According to PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services), the total lunar eclipse will happen on December 10. If the weather cooperates and we get a clear sky, we will see the penumbral eclipse begin as early as 7:33 pm and will climax at around 10:31 pm with a total lunar eclipse. I’ve seen the last one happen and it turned the moon into a reddish shade of grey.
So clear up your garden early, clean the composters and enjoy an exciting night sky with friends. Aside fromt he Lunar Eclipse this December, we will also see some meteor showers which is set to happen around December 14.
When I go to cemeteries during the “undas” season, I go there to remember the people that we visit. However I can’t help myself from thinking about the future. Soon everyone’s borrowed time will be up and we will all end up as dead as the guys beneath the ground at cemeteries.
When I think of it that way, it gets me fired up – it makes me want to waste less of my time on trivial matters and do things that count, and continue on my goal to change the world one small detail at a time, beginning with myself that is. It is also a time where I look at things that I have yet to do.
I think its time to try out new things, like bunjee jumping, new gigs, and even try out dead sea products to help out my looks! Anyway its just one of those silly paces I go through and it is a healthy reminder for me to remember the future.
My dad has just retired, and after years and years of working he is finally free from the rat race and is enjoying life as it should be enjoyed. I have yet to pick decent retirement gifts for him.
Anyway, I also just resigned so I may have also been enjoying life a bit more, but not as much as my dad. I still work, albeit at home. Anyway his retirement led me to think about the future, about what lies ahead for me and my family and it also reminded me of the many many years that I still have to work and take responsibility for. It seems impossible and crazy, but when I look at it from a day to day perspective, its doable.
One thing I’m looking forward is a trip with my family. I miss living in the province. I have been living in the city for a few years and although it has many perks like being near jobs, malls, and a lot of stuff I can’t deny that I miss the fresh air and seeing breathtaking sceneries. We will be having a trip to Bohol which is known for its beaches but I hope we can also find some place to hitch hike. I will be packing one of our hiking backpacks nonetheless. It’s still a few months away but I know it is going to be a great vacation.
I know that showbiz personalities do try to cover up their messed up lives and the stuff we see are just scratching the surface, but occasionally we do get some of the nasty details leaked out.
An interesting story happened this weekend where actress Ruffa Gutierrez had a “tell all” interview detailing the real and gory details of his ex-boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz. She did this to get back to John Lloyd and his new girl friend Shaina Magdayao for harassing her through text messages for whatever reasons…
From my quick scan of the news item I read, Ruffa divulged derogatory information about her Ex – that he has a problem with alcoholism and womanizing. This will hurt John Lloyd’s “goodie two shoes” image and will probably hit his many advertising contracts.
Well we know that the interview was one sided, so there is more to this issue than what Ruffa divulged. We know that men don’t just drink alcohol and womanize without first finding a good excuse (i.e. Ruffa must have had her short comings as well), so John Lloyd, or better yet Shaina will probably do a rebuttal tell all interview to complete this media circus to get more viewers to showbiz talk shows.
Moral of the story, don’t let your new GF communicate with your Ex, and have your GF sign a “no tell all” after split up contract to avoid messy problems like what “good boy” John Lloyd Cruz is experiencing right now. We will probably be seeing some of Ruffa’s revelations comically printed on funny t shirts real soon. Ingat!
